The Maritime Market is the only full service grocery store on Bald Head Island- a unique maritime environment located at the mouth of the Cape Fear River, and accessible only by passenger ferry. Transportation around the island is via electric golf cart, bike or foot. The island is a permanent or second home to about 1,200 property owners.

The Maritime Market sells a full line of groceries, meat, produce, deli, beer/wine and assorted sundries such as beach toys, books & games, apparel & gifts. The Market also operates a full service restaurant on-site and serves breakfast, lunch, and a limited dinner menu including pizza. The Market also offers a full catering department and caters private functions including weddings, events, beach parties and other gatherings.

Market employees receive compensated parking at Deep Point Marina and ferry tickets to get to and from work.
